A Break From The Roadtrip

What is a blog supposed to be like? There are so many different kinds, and I feel like I should be put in a category. There are blogs about food. I love food, and I take pictures of everything I eat. But my blog doesn't revolve around food. There are health blogs. That's why I started mine. I was hoping if I started writing about food and exercise I would magically lose weight. That was a little boring to me, and I started rambling. There are "bloggers" who are involved in a blogging community, do giveaways, contests, cute pet picture of the week, DIY guest posts, etc. I don't know if I even want to get involved in that. And if I did I wouldn't know where to start. What I'm trying to say is I'm not sure where I fit in the blogging world. Or if I even do. These posts are basically long, drawn out, Facebook statuses.

I'm glad I've been writing more. I enjoy it. And maybe since I am becoming more regular (ha), I will start to feel like there is a theme. That there are people who identify with me. In a couple days I should be done with the road trip posts and I can start talking about Portland. Which is amazing by the way. I love everything about this city. Except the weather, overall. Today was gorgeous. But the majority of the days we have been here have been overcast and/or rainy. And if the sun is even out it sets at 4:30. BUT. From what everyone has said, the dreary winter is worth it once summer comes. I can't wait. Cannon Beach, hiking, taking Roxy swimming. But meanwhile, I'll be happy enjoying the restaurant, nightlife, and music scene. As soon as I get a job and start making money...

Here are a few highlights since we've moved in. Cheese Bar is my new favorite place. Ever. Extensive craft beer list, and the best cheese display I've ever seen. The owner, Steve, is very well known in the whole city. If a restaurant offers a cheese plate, it is usually Steve's selections.

There is one major farmers market that runs during the winter, the PSU Farmers Market. It is huge. This picture doesn't do it justice.

One benefit of the damp city.

Crossing the bridge to visit the west side of Portland.

Winter veggies.

I sold my car, so Roxy and I have been doing some walking while Tom is at work.

Goodnight.
